We have a safe system for managing test results. All results are looked at and patients are informed in a timely way by call or SMS. All results are viewed on the first working day after receipt.
The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
About test results
When you attend for a test of any kind, you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. This is a guideline and we ask that you wait this time before checking for your results. . It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if you are advised to do so.

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results:
- The best way to view your test results is to download the NHS App www.nhs.uk/nhs-app
- phone or visit us between 1pm to 3pm and we will tell you what the results are.
- Via emailing us on [email protected] requesting a copy of your test results.
Questions about your Test results
If you want to talk to someone about your results, please contact us over the phone or via the NHS App.
Admin staff are unable to interpret results and usually they can only say whether results are ‘normal’ or whether you need to discuss it further with the clinical staff member. Sometimes the clinical staff member will have issued and left a prescription, e.g. if test results show an infection.
All your results will be viewable after they have been reviewed by a Clinician and we will normally text to inform you. All results are viewed on day of receipt but can take up to 10 working days for full review. Please note the surgery will deal with any urgent abnormal blood results on the day of receipt from the laboratory.
